You can tell by the title of this post we have begun our science study of Force and Motion. We have learned that everything in our world moves. It might only move a small amount and very, very slowly, but movement is happening. We even learned that even if we appear to be standing still, the Earth is moving around the Sun, and the Sun is moving around our galaxy. The movement never stops!
We learned that force is a push or pull, which makes something move. A magnet can pull, or attract, some metal objects. Causing balloons to move requires a small amount of force to be exerted; pushing a car which ran out of gas takes a lot of force to move. In our hands-on lab we tested force and motion with car toys, marbles and a table to floor cardboard chute.
We cannot wait until our next lab session with Mr. G.!
